Student Visa Requirements for Applicants from Nigeria

Embassy of Ukraine in the republic of Nigeria deals with Liberia, Democratic Republic of Congo, Benin and Togo.

The admission of documents at the embassy starts on the 15th of may. Issued visas will be valid from August 15th.

To get a study visa, Nigerian applicants need to submit the following documents:

Original Invitation letter from the chosen Ukrainian university. Please, make note that the invitation should be issued by PE, “Star Consultants Ukraine”.

Passport with not less than 3 blank pages and date of expiry ending not earlier than 6 months after the last day of visa validity. One copy of the passport’s first page.

Visa application form filled in block letters. Make sure the application is filled, precisely and accurately and signed by the applicant. Visa applications are available for free. A paper version can be obtained at the Embassy and electronic version can be downloaded from our website.

Two coloured pictures three-by-four centimeters. Photos should be made against a white background.

Genuine certificate of birth and its copy authenticated by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the country that has issued it.

Genuine invitation letter and its photocopy. An invitation should contain no mistakes. Make sure the name, birth date and passport number in the invitation are identical to those you have submitted for the visa.

Original Certificate in Education (school or college leaving certificate) with enclosed statement of examination results and their photocopies authenticated by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the country that has issued them. The documents will be translated into Ukrainian and authorised by the Embassy.

Medical statement of good health authenticated by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the country that has issued it. Please remember that medical certificate of health is valid only for 2 months. This means, a prospective student should enrol to the educational institution within 2 months after the health certificate was issued. The document will be translated into Ukrainian and authorised by the Embassy.
Results of the AIDS/HIV test authenticated by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the country that has issued the document. The document will be translated into Ukrainian and authorised by the Embassy.

Valid return ticket with an open return date.

Original sponsorship letter legalised by a notary. Sponsorship letter should be written in a form of a court affidavit and contain your sponsor’s full name, address, telephone numbers (both mobile and landline), email address and an obligation to cover all expenses of a prospective student.

Sponsor’s personal bank statement for the last 6 months. Please note, that this should be a statement not from a company’s but from personal account. Amount on the sponsor’s bank account should cover an applicant’s tuition and daily expenses during the first year of education in Ukraine.

Confirmation of visa fees payment (85 dollars)

Insurance Policy for one month with the validity period starting from the first day of staying in Ukraine.
